IM BAMA BOUND Trend: The 3 Formats Fans Post
The IM BAMA BOUND trend on TikTok since October 16, 2026: two-slide photo posts, videos made from stills, real banner clips. School versions and how to join.
Last updated: 2026-11-01
The IM BAMA BOUND trend is the fan wave that followed the Bama Bound meme. From October 16, 2026, people on TikTok put themselves into the meme’s punchline, a red banner that reads I’M BAMA BOUND, after a first slide captioned “applied to Bama as a joke”. Fans post it in three formats: a two-slide photo post, a short video made from still images, or a real clip with a homemade banner, often as a Halloween costume.
The 3 formats fans post
On October 31, 2026, we looked at 25 popular and recent fan posts from TikTok’s discover and sound pages. It is not a random sample, but the split is clear:
| Format | Posts (of 25) | What it looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Two-slide photo post | 7 | Slide one is a normal photo with the “as a joke” caption; slide two is the banner photo with the poster’s own face edited in. |
| Video made from still images | 7 | A banner photo, a collage or a text-message screenshot joke, set to a sound. |
| Real clip with a banner | 11 | Someone holds a real, homemade banner while a friend films. Seven of the 11 were Halloween or school “meme day” costumes. |
Fourteen of the 25 were built from still images. None was an AI-made video, and none carried TikTok’s AI-generated label. The AI videos we did see came from accounts promoting AI tools.
1. The two-slide photo post
This is the closest copy of the original, which was a two-slide photo post. All seven we saw took the original banner photo and edited the fan’s own face in. That photo shows a real person, though. Making your own slide two, with a homemade banner or a new AI photo of you, gets the same joke without using anyone else’s picture.
2. A video made from still images
Some fans turned stills into a short video: a banner photo, a collage, or a joke written as a text-message screenshot, set to a sound. It is the quickest format if you already have the photos.
3. A real clip with a banner
From October 16, some fans filmed a real banner. From October 23, the trend turned into a costume: people dressed up as the banner photo for Halloween and for school spirit-week “meme days”, and filmed it. A homemade banner is all it takes; the Bama Bound sign has the words, sizes and a way to print it at home.
Where AI videos fit
AI videos are the newest way in. Tool sites started selling them on October 19, 2026, and this site is one of them: it turns one photo into an 8-second 9:16 MP4 at 720p of that person under the banner, looking up, laughing and jumping, with an AI-made crowd cheer. Most fans didn’t use one. It is a shortcut for when you want motion and don’t want to make a banner, find a field or ask a friend to film.
How the trend changed
- October 16, 2026: the first fan remakes, a month after the original post of September 16.
- October 16–19: the fan slideshows peak, and school versions appear.
- From about October 17: CapCut templates, then tutorials for AI tools such as Dreamina and Kling.
- October 23–31: Halloween and school “meme day” costumes, filmed with homemade banners.

Other schools, other words
The format works with any school, and fans changed both lines to match: “Applied to Boulder as a joke” on slide one and I’M BOULDER BOUND on the banner. People also search for “applied to Harvard as a joke”. The exact captions and more variants are on applied to Bama as a joke.
Videos from this site always read I’M BAMA BOUND. Other schools and custom words are not available yet, so for another school, make the banner or the photo yourself.

Before you post
- Use your own photo, or one of a friend who agreed to be in it. Leave out kids and public figures.
- Turn on TikTok’s AI-generated label if AI made or edited either slide.
- Keep it a joke: don’t pair it with a fake acceptance letter or claim a scholarship you didn’t get.
- Leave university logos off a homemade banner; the words are enough.

Questions
What is the I’m Bama Bound trend?
It is the fan wave that followed the Bama Bound meme. From October 16, 2026, TikTok users posted their own version of the I’M BAMA BOUND banner photo: as two-slide photo posts, as videos made from still images, or as real clips with a homemade banner.
Do I need AI to do the I’m Bama Bound trend?
No. None of the 25 fan posts we looked at was an AI video: people used photo edits, videos made from stills or a real homemade banner. AI tools, this site included, are a shortcut, not a requirement.
Can I put another school on the banner?
Yes, on a banner or photo you make yourself: fans posted versions like “Applied to Boulder as a joke” with an I’M BOULDER BOUND banner. Videos from this site always read I’M BAMA BOUND.
What sound do people use for the trend?
The original two-slide post uses “original sound — ayesha.fm”, and you can pick it in TikTok when you post. Videos from this site come with an AI-made crowd cheer instead; you can turn it down in TikTok’s volume settings.
Can I use someone else’s photo for the trend?
No, not unless they agreed. Use your own photo or one of a friend who is in on it, and leave out kids and public figures.
